David formed YMA in 2011 after a career spent within accountancy and more recently the automotive industry covering England and Scotland at board level,
David specialises in medical practice mergers and acquisitions, management consultancy and medical partnership accounting and with over 35 years in practice and industry he can offer a wealth of experience to care and guide on the business journey.
Outside work he suffers the ups and downs of Leeds United whilst also enjoying most sports and travel.

Qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 1993 and became an FCA in 2009
John trained with a top 10 accountancy firm then worked in general practice with a small firm covering a wide variety of clients from the local fish and chip shop to legal practices, dealing with the intricacies of Solicitors Accounts Rules before focusing solely on medical partnership accounts and GP finance since 2002. He co-founded YMA with David Johnson in 2011.
Outside work interests include walking, travel, the natural world, gastronomy and most sports.

Qualified as a Chartered Accountant (FCA) in 2014. Joined Yorkshire Medical Accountants in March 2022.
Phil oversees our corporate clients who also deals with Primary Care Networks and VAT registered GP dispensing practices. He worked in general practice in North Yorkshire for over 13 years before moving to West Yorkshire and has looked after clients from a wide range of industries including agriculture, construction, hospitality, IT, and many others.
Outside of work, Phil is a keen golfer and a Leeds United supporter. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and young children.

Joined Yorkshire Medical Accountants in September 2017 and qualified ACA in January 2021
Max graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2016 with a 2:1 qualification in BSc Hons Management. Max became a Chartered Accountant in January 2021 after completing his journey with the ACA.
Outside work he is a keen sportsman and endures the up and downs of having a season ticket at Leeds United. Max is also a keen traveller and enjoys exploring the world.

Before joining the team to help our GP practice clients by maintaining their financial books and records; Nicola worked in general practice as a practice manager. She has over 30 years of experience working in general practice.
Outside work, Nicola enjoys spending time with family, gardening and cooking.

Before joining the team in December 2025, Ed graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a 2:1 qualification in accounting and has gained experience working in General Practice for 4 years, covering accounts preparation, tax advice and audits.
Outside of work, Ed enjoys playing football and running, along with watching most sports, particularly the thrills of Man United.

Sri worked for one of the national accountancy firms and has over 26 years’ direct experience in looking after clients in healthcare, pharmacists, dental surgery, children’s day nurseries, IT, commercial property, jewellers, import/export, automotive, builders, restaurants, shop keepers, food etc in the areas of Accounting, Payroll, VAT & Taxation. He currently specialises in taxation & pensions for the Partners of GP Practices, other doctors and medical professionals.
Outside of work, Sri enjoys spending time with his family, movies and travelling.

Niman worked in General Practice for a local firm for 10 years in accounts preparation, bookkeeping & VAT returns and has more than 8 years’ experience with a national firm in tax preparation work assisting private tax clients. Currently he offers his experience and skills in assisting GP Practice doctors and locum doctors in their personal tax matters.
